A
follow-on from Memory Lane 1, here are more old photos from Lower
Heyford, contributed by the grandson of W. Gold, born in 1880, and
who went to work in the south Birmingham area around 1902.
Some
of the photos had details written on the reverse side and that information
is reproduced here. It is surmised the football photos date from around
the mid 1800s to around 1900. Perhaps someone will recognise an ancestor
- if so, please do email us.

This
photo had no details on the reverse and no date as to when it was
taken. It is possibly slightly earlier than the next photograph, and
more than likely earlier than the third photograph.

The
details as written by W. Gold on the back of this photo are - Back
row, left to right, Rev Hall, George Hope, W. Gold, Jack Haynes, Godwin.
Middle row, left to right, George? Tatnum, A. James, C. Cheeseman
captain, N. Walton, J Slatter?. Front row, left to right, N. Margitts,
J. Long, A. Brock.

Details on the reverse of this photograph are Heyford, winners of
the Jersey Cup, but the date is unknown.

No
details on this photograph, other than that it is Heyford Station.
The photo quality is unfortunately rather poor.

This
again may well be Heyford Station - perhaps someone can confirm this.
Again, this photo is also in poor condition.
We
are indebted to W. Gold's grandson for supplying these photos and
the information he has to hand about each one.
